Will Microsoft Buy Activision Blizzard?

Will Microsoft Buy Activision Blizzard?

A major shakeup is happening in the video game industry as entertainment giant Vivendi is looking to sell off Activision Blizzard. And one potential buyer could have a huge impact on the future games. It looks like Microsoft is interested in purchasing the game making juggernaut known as Activision Blizzard.

Activision is known for it's record breaking Call of Duty franchise as well as well as the Rock Band series and Blizzard is known for its amazing array of PC franchise, such as Warcraft, Starcraft and Diablo. Activision and Blizzard merged back in 2007 to create one of the most formidable game developers in the world and now Vivendi is looking to sell them off. So, if Microsoft owned this powerhouse it could cause huge problems for Sony. What kind of problems? Well If they wanted to, Microsoft could make all future CoD titles X-box exclusives and with Diablo 3 looking to be ported to consoles, they could make that an exclusive as well.

Of course, then Microsoft would miss out on all the sales of those games to Playstation customers so they would essentially be shooting themselves in the foot. However, you can be sure that all the best exclusive DLC and pre-order bonuses will be available on the nex X-box and not the new playstation. This could potentially cause Sony big problems. So, will this deal go down? Vivendi is asking for 8.1 Billion dollars for Activision Blizzard and Microsoft might not be willing to shell out that much cash for these game makers.
