Thomas Jane Returns As ”The Punisher”

Thomas Jane returns as The Punisher, but it may not be quite what you had in mind.

Fans of 2004's The Punisher have long wanted to see their favorite vigilante make a triumphant return to the big screen. One fan in particular that perhaps wants it more than any other is the film's star, Thomas Jane. Marvel's future movie plans may not include a new Punisher movie, but that hasn't stopped Jane from returning as anti-hero Frank Castle in a new short that the star debuted to fans while appearing this past weekend at Comic-Con.

The ten minute short, titled "Dirty Laundry" shows Castle going about his day, trying to get his laundry done as a gang of thugs terrorize a street. Though he tries to mind his own business, he eventually is driven to enact his own kind of punishment on the gang.

The short also features Hellboy star Ron Perlman as a wheelchair bound liquor store owner. The project was done completely on their own, without permission from Marvel. In regards to the project, Jane said, "I wanted to make a fan film for a character I've always loved and believed in - a love letter to Frank Castle & his fans. It was an incredible experience with everyone on the project throwing in their time just for the fun of it. It's been a blast to be a part of from start to finish -- we hope the friends of Frank enjoy watching it as much as we did making it."
